What Is Decorative Paint and What Finishes Are Available?

2026-08-02

Decorative paint is a coating system designed to create both visual character and surface protection. Unlike standard flat wall paint, decorative finishes can reproduce stone, mineral, metallic, velvet, concrete and textured effects. For commercial interiors, hospitality spaces, villas and feature walls, the right decorative coating should combine appearance, application stability, durability and repeatable color control.

What Decorative Finishes Are Available?

Caruns currently develops 17 decorative finish solutions, including Microcement, Venetian Stucco, Velvet Finish, Eggshell Finish, Malay Paint, Liquid Metal, Titanium Finish, Lime Wash, Washed Stone and copper or iron rust effects. These systems are designed for luxury residences, commercial spaces, hotels and artistic interior applications.

Manufacturer vs Trader

Decorative coatings depend heavily on formulation control and application compatibility. A manufacturer can directly manage pigment ratios, resin selection, texture materials, color formulas and production records, while a trader normally relies on external factories for these technical adjustments.

Caruns operates its own R&D and manufacturing system and has developed more than 500 coating formulations across architectural and decorative applications. Company records show a 16,000 square meter manufacturing base with annual production capacity exceeding 20,000 tons.

OEM and ODM Process

For customized decorative paint, our process can include:

  • Finish and market positioning confirmation

  • Formula development

  • Color and texture matching

  • Sample preparation

  • Application testing

  • Packaging customization

  • Trial production

  • Mass production

Caruns also supports RAL, Pantone and customer-specific color references for customized product development and repeat-order color management.

Manufacturing and Quality Control

Our production system covers mixing, dispersion, grinding, tinting, filtration and filling. Incoming materials are inspected for viscosity, pH, fineness, solid content and environmental indicators. Finished products are evaluated for appearance, color, hiding power, adhesion, hardness, scrub resistance and batch stability.

Quality management follows IQC, IPQC, FQC and OQC, creating traceable checkpoints from raw materials to final shipment.

Bulk Sourcing and Export Compliance

Before placing a decorative paint order, confirm substrate, finish sample, approved color, application method, coverage, packaging, MOQ, production lead time and technical documents. For export markets, Caruns supports compliance credentials including ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, CE, RoHS, REACH, French A+ and German AgBB.

Decorative paint should therefore be sourced as a controlled finish system, where formula stability, approved samples, manufacturing consistency and application support are managed together from development through bulk production.
